This trek package is no different than the Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Ghorepani, but the days are short and the target is to reach the Annapurna Base Camp in the shortest way possible. On this package, we will not be visiting Poon Hill, Ghorepani. That's why we can call this trek the speedy Annapurna Base Camp Trek. If you are a beginner and don't have any walking experience, then this 5-day shortest route to reach Annapurna Base Camp might not be a good idea. In 5 days, we will be walking for approximately 7 hours a day without acclimatization, so make sure this package is for you.

Annapurna Sanctuary, or ABC Trek, is a popular trekking trail in Annapurna Region from the beginning, where other trekking routes were not discovered.  The trek takes you through stunning mountain scenery, including the Annapurna Range, and offers stunning views of Mt. Fishtail. Roughly the short Annapurna Base Camp distance is about 35 to 40 km from Pokhara. On this short 5-day Annapurna base camp trek, the itinerary typically starts from Pokhara and follows the Modi Khola River upstream. We will drive just below Ghandruk village from Pokhara to the Jhinu Danda Bridge to make the trip itinerary short. Some people take a helicopter ride to Annapurna Base Camp, which is another way to reach Annapurna Base Camp, but we are talking about the trekking plan.

Highlights of 5-Day Annapurna Base Camp

  • Spectacular Mountain Views: Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the Annapurna mountain range, including Machapuchhare, Annapurna I, and Hiunchuli. The ABC Trek offers breathtaking views of these majestic peaks throughout the journey.
  • Cultural Immersion: Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the region as you pass through ethnic villages like Chhomrung. Interact with the friendly locals and get a glimpse into their traditional lifestyle and customs.
  • Diverse Landscapes: Trek through diverse landscapes, starting from lowland villages and lush green rice terraces. As you ascend, you will encounter deep forests of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron trees, adding to the natural beauty of the trail.

  • Tea House Accommodations: Stay in comfortable tea houses run by local communities, providing an authentic experience and a chance to support the local economy.

Standing at the Annapurna Sanctuary, trekkers are rewarded with awe-inspiring 360-degree panoramas, a highlight that makes this trek unforgettable. The enormous Annapurna glacier is visible above the Annapurna Hills. From the Annapurna Base Camp, we retrace our steps while gathering life experience. Take a short hike to Chomrong village to descend. Another thing is that the Jhinu Danda (a natural hot spring) is relaxing. The short climb to Annapurna Base Camp passes through a rhododendron grove. Additionally, it travels through quaint Nepalese villages. Enjoy the Gurung and Magar ethnic communities.

For 4 nights, we will arrange your accommodation in the local tea houses, and three meals will be included.  If you have time and can extend, then a 7-day Annapurna base camp trek would be a good choice. Best Seasons And Months For The Short ABC Trek

The most popular time to do the Annapurna Base Camp trek is from September to November, when the weather is clear and more crowded. Autumn temperatures average around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but they decrease as you gain elevation.

Trekkers who want to avoid the crowds often go to ABC in the winter or spring. Winter is the coldest time to trek, but there are fewer people in the area.

Spring is considered the most beautiful time to visit ABC, as the flowers are in bloom and temperatures warm up to around 63 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this is also the haziest time of year in the Himalayas, so views may be obscured.

How Difficult Is The Short ABC Trek?

The short ABC trek is considered a moderately difficult trek that does not require technical mountaineering skills. On average, hikers will walk for 6 to 8 hours per day. The difficulty of the trek can vary depending on your fitness level and previous hiking experience. All trekking routes in Nepal involve a lot of ups and downs, which can be draining, especially at higher altitudes where there is less oxygen. However, compared to other high-altitude treks such as Everest Base Camp, Manaslu, and the Annapurna Circuit, the ABC trek is considered less difficult.
