How many people have the opportunity to say that they flew over several of the tallest mountains in the world and landed at the base of one of them? With our Daily Annapurna Base Camp Tour by Helicopter, you’ll be able to see not one, but several of the tallest mountains in the world in one sweeping glance. Peacefully glide above the rolling foothills and literally within moments, you’ll be peeking out your window to colossal Himalayan ridges right next to you.
Within moments of waking up in Pokhara, you’ll have an eagle eye’s view of Lamjung Himal (6983), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna III (7555m), Ganggapurna (7454m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6434m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m). The perspective is astonishing, and even Annapurna expeditioners won’t see such a sight. Don’t get me wrong, the Annapurna Conservation Area treks are all amazing, but the views on the Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter Tour are unbeatable.
We leave Pokhara at 7 am, and we’ll reach base camp before most tourists have woken up. Hop out of the helicopter and take some photos. Breathe deep and savor the pure mountain air. We’ll take our time, admiring the snow-clad, rugged mountains. When it’s time to go, bid farewell to the mountains and hop back on the aircraft. You’ll be on the opposite side of the helicopter on the way down, so you’ll get to see anything you missed on the way up. Everyone gets a window seat, and therefore their own personal viewing space.
We arrive back at Pokhara Domestic Airport at the culmination of the tour. Even though it was a quick trip, the memories of this thrilling ride will live forever.
NOTE: Although the ride departs from Pokhara, we can arrange the itinerary to leave from Kathmandu. This package is perfect for travelers of all ages and of course, requires no experience in the mountains.
