In Pokhara, there are many things to do but if you are wondering for a day hike in Pokhara then Pokhara Dhampus day hike is the best way to spend your time around Annapurna Himalayan ranges.
Pokhara Dhampus day hike starts after an hour drive from Kande village. From Kande to Australian base camp trail lead gently steep and this is about 1 and half hour walk. Australian camp height is 2100m, which is normal height for beginner hiker and also perfect hike trail for children’s. We can see stunning Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Lamjung Himal, and Fishtail. After exploring and taking some nice snaps in front of amazing mountains we will hike down to Dhampus village. Dhampus is beautiful Gurung villages with majestic views of the Annapurna ranges, landscape, and local people cultures. From the halfway of Dhampus after passing through villages we will be hiking all the way down to Phedi to ride back to Pokhara. this trip can be organized all around the year, for more details please contact Day Tours Nepal team. Trip Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Pokhara- Dhampus- Pokhara Pokhara Dhampus day hike starts around 8 am in the morning from Pokhara. We will drive an hour up to Kande village and start hiking. From Kande to Australian base camp trail lead gently steep and this is about 1 and half hour walk. Trekking Equipment

Obviously you will be in higher elevation while trekking in Nepal. The weather will be different in every region but also have to pack the proper trekking equipment. While buying clothing please pick warm clothing especially during the winter season (Dec-Feb) in Nepal. We also suggest you to get the proper light backpack and have enough space to pack your stuff. Clothing

  • Warm jacket – down jacket, if possible.
  • Water and windproof jacket (alternatively bring a poncho or umbrella)
  • Long sleeved synthetic fleece (windproof material, if possible)
  • Thermal underwear
  • Hat, pair of gloves and scarf
  • Comfortable hiking trousers (loose fitting)
  • Shorts and trousers, or skirt
  • 2 pairs of warm wool-blend socks
  • 2 pairs of running socks or liner socks
  • Proper hiking boots
  • Running shoes and flip-flops
  • 2-3 t-shirts

During winter season, additional clothing’s may include:

  • The outer jacket should be warm, down jacket is highly recommended during winter season
  • Bring a pair of warm winter trousers, in addition to the hiking trousers
  • Bring at least one windproof layer of clothes, helping to reduce any chill factor influence.
  • Snow gaiters

Trekking Gear

  • Pair of polarizing sun-glasses (to be comfortable and to avoid potential snow-blindness)
