See the most of Nepal in our exciting, culturally and naturally diverse Nepal Scenic Tour. Learn about Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and their beautiful coexistence. Move from the chaotic city of Kathmandu to peaceful Pokhara at the foot of the Himalayas. Then, head to the Terai region for a jungle safari. The Nepal Scenic Tour wraps up in the Kathmandu Valley, where travelers get to explore the ancient Newari kingdoms of Bhaktapur and Patan. The road between each place is full of surprises; even moments in the car teach you about the diverse landscapes of Nepal and the lovely people who inhabit them.
There is never a dull moment during the Nepal Scenic Tour. On the first full day of the package, visit several of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. Stroll around the centuries-old temples, stupas, and shrines and feel a wave of peace overcome you. Some of the sites we visit are Boudhanath, Swayambunath, Pashupatinath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Each has its own rich history, which grows with each passing day.
Chitwan, meaning “heart of the jungle,” is the next destination on our tour. This national park, a national treasure of Nepal, is teeming with wildlife. On our full day of jungle exploration, it is possible to see the One-Horned Indian Rhino, Asian Elephant, Royal Bengal Tiger, Gharial, and the Sloth Bear (surprisingly more feared by locals than the tiger). Choose between multiple ways of enjoying the park: take a canoe ride in the Rapti River, an elephant back safari ride, a jungle walk, and more. Also, learn about the Tharu people, natives of the area before heading to Pokhara the next day.
Pokhara is a nature lover’s paradise, particularly those who love a good thrill. During our full day in Pokhara, take a boat ride on Phewa Lake. We stop by the main tourist destinations of the World Peace Pagoda, International Mountain Museum, Seti River Gorge, and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. However, it’s more than possible to extend your stay in Pokhara for an extra day to watch the sunrise at Sarangkot and/or take a paragliding excursion with stunning mountain views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South.
On the last leg of the Nepal Scenic Tour, we take the snake-like hilly roads back to the Kathmandu Valley for some final exploration of Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, and Patan. Bhaktapur and Patan are two of the three medieval Newar city-states. Exploring the temple packed squares and narrow alleyways with authentic Newari cuisine is a one-of-a-kind experience. Admire the artful stone architecture that was constructed over 500 years ago while snacking on some buffalo chhoila (spiced buffalo meat) and chhang (barley/millet/rice beer).
On day 8 of the Nepal Scenic Tour, we visit Nagarkot – a most proper end to a memorable tour. The glowing sunrise and sunset views from the hilltop village is one of the most famous in Nepal. Watch the first and last lights of the day strike the white peak of Mount Everest and other iconic peaks.
