Is there any trekking routes around Kathmandu? well yes, Kathmandu Valley Trekking is one of the best trekking routes around Kathmandu valley. When you arrive in Nepal, it just seems that there is a distinct air of spirituality that abounds within the air. It is after all, the land of god and goddesses. Travelers describe Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan as the towns of temples and goddesses. Beside of Temples and goddess, crowded, pollution Kathmandu is surrounded by greenery hills and snow capped mountains.

Kathmandu valley rim trekking is short and easy hike for beginner, family and also for seniors travelers, this trek offers panoramic view of Kathmandu valley by high Himalayas. You will be surprised by Mt. Everest range, Mt. Gaurishanker, Lantang range, Ganesh himal, dorje lakpa and various other mountains ranges can be seen within short and easy hike. Kathmandu valley trekking can be done all around but mountains view might not be clear during the monsoon time. We will be hiking around Kathmandu hills, offers picturesque landscape, traditional villages, peoples, birds, wild animals and obviously snow capped mountains. We will be hiking in normal altitude (2300m) maximum and you don’t need to worry for high altitude, just train your knees and feet to hike for 5-6 hrs a day.

Trip Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Kathmandu Drive to Sundarijal (1350m) trekking to Chisopani (2140m) After your breakfast we will drive about 1 hour from Kathmandu to trek start point Sundarijal. From Sundarijal the trail climb up the trail will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. Before entering the forest we will pass through small tamang villages which offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture and religion of its inhabitants. From the top of Shivapuri, one can have a panoramic view of the western mountains like Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal Range, Mt. Langtang Range, Mt. DorjeLhakpa Mt. Shisapangma, Mt. GauriShankar and various other mountains. We will continue walking on the rhododendron and oaks forest and finally we will reach Chisopani.
  • Day 02:Chisopani trekking to Nagarkot (2170m) Wakeup early for morning photography, after having our breakfast, we continue our trekking through mostly flat and downhill trail to Nagarkot. Trekking goes between the village and forest with the great views of country site and mountain. Today you might be little bit tired but after reaching Nagarkot you will forget all sores and pain because nagarkot offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan. Nagarkot is well known place to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets and also Mount Everest can be seen on a clear day including other 12 peaks.
  • Day 03:Nagarkot trekking to Dhulikhel (1700m) We wake up early to catch the sun rising over the snowy Himalayan peaks. After breakfast we will trek down to old Newari town (Newar are the local people of Kathmandu) of Dhulikhel.
  • Day 04:Dhulikhel tour to Bhaktapur/Patan and drive back to Kathmandu Breathtaking mountains view from your hotels, easy morning today no rush because we will take a drive after breakfast. While coming back to Kathmandu we explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square. After Bhaktapur explore Patan City (city of fine arts), full of Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples. We will drop to your hotel and at the evening join Nepali cultural dinner show here.
