The Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is the perfect trek for those who are looking to explore the Annapurna region, without committing to the lengthy circuit trek or the sanctuary trek. From the second day of trekking, we arrive at Ghorepani (2750m), located in the heart of the region. Poon Hill at the height of 3210m, which has incredible views of the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri ranges, along with much more, such as the awe-inspiring holy mountain of Machhapuchhre.It is a relatively short and easy climb and it will give you an opportunity to view these spectacular mountains above 8000m, including Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manaslu (8163m) and Annapurna (I) (8091m). There are others at less than 8000m including Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchre (Fishtail) (6993m), Gangapurna (7455m), Lamjung Himal (6830m), Barasikhar (6635m), Nilgiri (6670m), Tukuche Peak (7650m), Hiun Chuli (6441m) and many other peaks slowly begin to appear, like magic, before our eyes.

Trip Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Kathmandu drive to Pokhara Altitude: (827m) 2,713ft Distance: 210 Km 6 hours Day Tours Nepal trekking guide will come to your hotel with the private car to receive you. A scenic drive starts after your breakfast, on the way we will stop for break. If you want to stop for Rafting (option) than we will pass through the most popular Trishuli River. Sometime traffic may make your travel longer but after clearing Kathmandu road will be smooth towards to Pokhara. Check in your hotel and evening free for walking around Fewa Lake. Our guide will help you and show you the places around. It's nice to stay by the Fewa Lake for mountains, sunset and evening view.
  • Day 02:Pokhara drive to Nayapul and Trek to Ulleri (2,070m) 6,791.339ft. Distance: 22.3Km 5-6 hours After having breakfast we will take 1 hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. The 22.3km is including the drive from Pokhara so don't be afraid. You will have our porter to carry your bag for Ghorepani Trekking and the trek starts from Nayapul. After short walk we will clear our Entry permits with TAAN and Annapurna Conservation area. Follow the dirt roads up to Tikhedhunga. In peak time the vehicle hunks might annoyed but the nature will makes you to ignore the hunks and dust. From Tikhedhunga to Ulleri is totally uphill and have to walk over stairs for 1 hr. Ulleri is the good choice to stay because from here we can see Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Heuchuli and beautiful Ulleri Gurung village.
  • Day 03:Ulleri Trek to Ghorepani Altitude: (2,874m) 9,429ft Distance: 10 .3 km 5-6 hours Your breakfast will be ready by 7;00am, enjoy the mountain breakfast with amazing landscapes and golden mountain view. Fun fact your breakfast will be order before you go to bed but you will get the menu to pick. During the breakfast guide will give you the short brief about the day. Before coming to breakfast please pack your bag so porter can go ahead with your bag. Scenic walk through lush forest, streams, rivers, waterfall and small local tea houses. From Banthanthi you will able to see Mt. Fishtail but after reaching to Ghorepani you will be amazing with Giant Mushrooms (Mountains). You can visit to poon hill for sunset if you are not feeling tired. Poon Hill is about 45 min walk from Ghorepani so consult with your guide. However you are going for sunrise in the Morning.
  • Day 04:Ghorepani Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani. Altitude: (3,210m) 10,531ft & (2,590m) 8,497ft Distance: 13-14 km 6-7 hours Wake Up up around 5;00 am and our guide will escort you for sunrise and mountain view at Poon Hill. Pretty much walking over stairs so if you have problem in your knees better to carry your hiking poles. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Poon Hill from Ghorepani. Enjoy the sunrise, Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna ranges, Dhaulagiri ranges, Tukuche peak, and the amazing landscapes. We will hike back to Ghorepani for breakfast and after breakfast our trek continues towards to Tadapani. The beginning hike from Ghorepani up to Deurali is slightly uphill but after that bit flat and downhill. The last point is uphill and takes about 45 to 1 hr. Enjoy the golden view of Annapurna south, Heuchuli, Fishtail from the Tadapani.
  • Day 05:Tadapani Trek to Ghandruk village Altitude: (1,940m) 6,364ft Distance: 6-8 Km 3-4 hours Fells like not walk long because of yesterday hike? so we are making your trek shorter here to Ghandruk village. Enjoy the morning sunrise view from Tadapani and trek to Ghandruk Village. Ghandruk village is big Gurung community settle village. Trails is flat, downhill, but easy walk. We will have lunch at Ghandruk village and evening will visit Gurung Museum and short village walk. Enjoy the last night in Mountain village. Fishtail, Annapurna South and Heuchuli will be shining all the time here.
  • Day 06:Ghandruk Trek to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara. Distance 9- 43 km: 6-7 hours The last day of Ghorepani Poon Hill circuit trek end at Banthanti (Annapurna Conservation check post). After breakfast we will pass through Ghandruk village and the dirt roads up to Nayapaul. Today mostly we will take short original trekking trails but mostly connected with the roads. Downhill up to syauli bazaar and almost flat up to Nayapul. If you want to skip the dusty trail than catch the vehicle from sinwa or on the way. Our guide will take you to your hotel because today your accommodation is included. You will not meet your guide and porter so shake hands with them and join for dinner in some nice restaurants.

Trekking Equipment

Obviously you will be in higher elevation while trekking in Nepal. The weather will be different in every region but also have to pack the proper trekking equipment. Day Tours Nepal is selling Nepal’s Top Best selling treks and all are Tea-house Trekking so you don’t need to think of Camping gears.

While buying clothing please pick warm clothing especially during the winter season (Dec-Feb) in Nepal. We also suggest you to get the proper light backpack and have enough space to pack your stuff. Clothing

What is the weather like at Ghorepani trekking?

  • November, December, January, and February are the coldest months but its also when the sky will be at its clearest. During this time there will be snow you need to be well prepared with proper trekking gears.
  • February, March, and April are the months that mark the end of the dry season. It is also the best time of year for trekking.
  • May to June marks the summer season in Nepal and it can get really hot and humid trekking in Mountains. Mountains view will also be average at best because of haze.
